Some photographs whisper.
We were built to listen.
"The story behind the image is the image."
We publish work from photographers across the world, any genre, any subject. What we ask for is intention and a willingness to let us in.
Every submission can include a written piece, the story behind the photographs. Not a caption. The moment before, the world you carried, the silence after.
Revele exists to lift the veil. To show not just what was captured, but what it meant to be the one holding the camera in that moment.
Revele is a visual arts magazine dedicated to the story that lives behind the photograph, the moment before the shutter, the world the photographer carried into the frame, the silence after.
We exist for photographers who understand that an image is never just an image. It is a decision, a feeling, a confession.
Each issue brings together submitted work from photographers worldwide, paired with the stories they choose to tell. Not captions. Stories.
Who holds the camera shapes what is seen. We celebrate the distinct perspective each photographer brings, without hierarchy or genre bias.
We ask not just for images but for the lives that produced them. Context transforms a photograph into something that endures beyond the moment of its making.
Revele is drawn to the quiet, the overlooked, the tender. We have no interest in noise for its own sake. We are interested in what is true.

Ebrahim Kassem is the founder and editor of Revele, a visual arts magazine dedicated to the stories that live behind the image. Driven by a belief that every photograph carries a world within it, Ebrahim created Revele as a space where photographers are not just seen, but truly heard.
Use this as a guide for the kind of work we are looking for. Not a rule. A feeling.

Portrait, environmental, documentary. The first image that stops someone mid-scroll.

We are drawn to moody, considered light. Not overexposed. Not filtered.

Negative space, silence, the pause before and after the decisive moment.

The relationship between a subject and where they exist. Documentary or constructed.

The small things that carry entire worlds inside them.
Heavily filtered or preset-driven images. Work submitted without a story or context. Derivative editorial work that resembles advertising. Technical perfection without intention. Work submitted by someone who has not read the guidelines.
Issue 01 is open now. Be part of the first gaze.
Our debut issue invites photographers to share a series of images and the story behind them. No genre restrictions. No experience requirements. Just a point of view and the willingness to share it.
We accept submissions from photographers at all stages. What we look for is not technical perfection, it is a point of view. Every submission is read personally by our editor.

Not at all. We welcome photographers at every stage, from first-time submitters to seasoned professionals. What matters is your point of view, not your resume or equipment.
Yes, as long as the files meet our minimum resolution requirements. Many phones can meet this. Check your export settings before submitting.
No, it is optional. However, submissions that include a story are much more likely to be accepted. Even a few paragraphs can transform how we see your work.
Unfortunately no. We require that submitted images are unpublished. After your work is published in Revele, you are free to share it anywhere.
Between 6 and 20 images. We recommend around 10 to 15 for a well-rounded series. The images should feel cohesive and tell a single visual story.
Revele is an independent publication in its launch phase. At this stage we do not offer monetary payment, but all featured photographers receive full credit, a digital tearsheet, and significant exposure across Instagram and MagCloud.
We respond to every submission within 7 to 10 days. You will receive a reply whether your work is accepted or not.
All genres are welcome — portrait, documentary, street, fashion, fine art, landscape, conceptual. Visit our Mood page for the aesthetic direction of Issue 01, but do not let it limit you.
Yes. Both are welcome. What matters is that the choice feels intentional.
Currently only Issue 01 is open. If your work is not selected for Issue 01, you are welcome to submit new or different work to future issues.

Issue 01 of Révèle is built around the moment of first seeing — the first gaze between subject and lens, between photographer and light, between viewer and image. We invite work that captures not just what was seen, but the act of seeing itself.
There is no rigid brief. Interpret the theme freely. What matters is that the work carries a story only you could tell.
Featured photographers receive full credit in print and digital editions, a digital tearsheet, and promotion across all Révèle channels including Instagram. Révèle is an independent publication in its launch phase and does not currently offer monetary compensation.
Editorial features from photographers whose work has been selected for Révèle. Each spread is accompanied by the full story behind the series.
